draftMy Chemicals & Packaging: bringing B2B wholesale ordering online for Australian buyers
My Chemicals & Packaging supplies packaging and cleaning products Australia-wide — to cafes, restaurants and bakeries as well as households. They moved phone-and-email wholesale ordering onto a self-serve online store, so trade buyers can browse the full range and order at their own pricing, any time.

The business
My Chemicals & Packaging is an Australian-owned, Melbourne-based supplier of packaging and cleaning products, distributing Australia-wide from a NSW warehouse. Their range spans bags; cake and baking supplies; catering trays and platters; cleaning chemicals; containers and bowls (foil, plastic, sugarcane and paper); cutlery and skewers; drinking cups; food wraps and paper; gloves and health protection; napkins, tissue and paper towels; plates and trays; and stationery.
They serve both trade and retail — cafes, restaurants and bakeries buying in volume, alongside households ordering for everyday use — under the promise of “Quality Supplies, Australia-Wide” and “Reliable Packaging & Cleaning Solutions”.
The problem before Posboai
Wholesale ordering ran largely through phone and email, with custom quotes for trade customers. That meant staff time spent fielding calls, looking up prices and turning quotes around — and trade buyers couldn’t simply browse the full range and place an order on their own schedule.
With a deep catalogue across packaging and cleaning, keeping pricing consistent for different trade customers — while still selling to households — was hard to do manually. They wanted self-serve online ordering that respected trade pricing without losing the household audience.
Why they chose Posboai
Posboai let My Chemicals & Packaging put B2B and B2C on the same branded storefront with a cart, applying the right pricing per customer automatically — trade tiers for wholesale buyers, retail pricing for households. Being Australian-built, hosted and supported mattered for an Australia-wide supplier, and there is no per-order platform tax, so they keep 100% of revenue as online ordering grows.
Implementation
The project centred on importing the catalogue across their dozen-or-so product categories — from bags and containers through cleaning chemicals to napkins and stationery — and setting up tiered pricing so trade customers see their wholesale rate at checkout while households see retail.
Inventory and fulfilment were configured to reflect their Melbourne base and NSW warehouse distribution so online orders route correctly for Australia-wide delivery.
Day-to-day operations
Trade customers now log in and order from the full range themselves, at their own pricing, instead of phoning or emailing for a quote. Households use the same store with retail pricing. Orders arrive in one place rather than across phone messages and email threads, freeing the team from manual quoting and re-keying.
Repeat trade buyers can reorder quickly, which suits a supplier whose customers restock the same packaging and cleaning lines regularly.
Results
The headline change is self-serve online wholesale ordering with trade pricing, alongside a household-facing store. Specific outcomes — hours saved on quoting and order entry, growth in online order volume, faster reordering, and revenue retained by avoiding marketplace commissions — are being confirmed with the business. TODO(verify-with-customer): obtain real metrics (admin hours saved, online order growth %, reorder rate, revenue retained) before this section goes live.
“Our trade customers used to phone or email for a quote. Now they log in, see their pricing and order the whole range themselves — and we still sell to households on the same store.”
What's next
With self-serve ordering live, the focus is on broadening trade adoption and refining tier pricing for different customer types — continuing to serve buyers Australia-wide while keeping 100% of revenue.
